MiraBlue was named after the first patient to use the blue version of this devise, a girl with diabetes mellitus, called Mira. Various MiraBlue versions in different colors are currently available. MiraBlue can be equipped with LEDs, emitting light of one of the following colors: infrared, red, yellow, green, blue and dark blue. Different wavelengths of light can be required for therapy of various pathologies. MiraBlue can be produced in any color or brightness, required by the end user. MiraBlue is easy to operate due to its user-friendly software. Four control buttons allow choosing between several levels of brightness, frequencies of modulation and timer settings. All the information about operation of the unit is visible on the LCD screen This small device allows the choice of modulation from continuous to 500 Hz, including 3 modes with changing frequencies. Changing frequency modes are designed for pain relief, improvement of local microcirculation, muscle relaxation. A timer operates the unit from 30 sec to 30 min, while it is possible to stop irradiation at any time. Brightness control is designed to change brightness from 0.4 to 4.0 milliwatts (mW) per square centimeter (for 458 and 470 nm blue light). Higher brightness is strong enough to irradiate from a distance wound and burn areas, while lower output is used to irradiate thin skin of children. MiraBlue also counts irradiation dosage in millijoules (mJ) per square centimeter. Total area of irradiation is 12 square centimeters. The doctor or phototherapy practitioner can program the unit individually for each patient for home use. Then the patient will need to press START button to have the treatment. MiraBlue will work the same way as long as it is required, until the doctor or practitioner will reprogram it. MiraBlue is designed the way that the patient is not able to change the treatment program. MiraBlue can also be easily used in the clinic treatments in addition to ELAPS, EMRED light or any other laser and LED therapy system. Unlike other phototherapy devices, MiraBlue can be purchased by patients or be rented from therapists. |
